Who can join?

You can! The Grange welcomes people who believe in making our community, state and nation better places to live, work, grow, learn and play. If you are 13 or older, you may join our local (Subordinate) Grange. Children ages 5–14 are welcome in the Ravena Junior Grange.

How to join

  1. Print the membership application below and fill it out.
  2. Submit it with your dues ($28.00 per year, pro-rated for the year) and the $3.00 application fee.
  3. We'll let you know the time and location of the initiation ceremony.
  4. Attend the ceremony — and you're a member!

Dues support the local, State and National Grange and may include a subscription to the Empire State Granger.

What membership looks like

As a fraternal organization, every Grange meeting opens with a prayer and a salute to the flag. When new members join, our local Grange confers the first four Degrees, symbolic of the seasons of the year. The county (Pomona) Grange confers the fifth Degree, the State Grange the sixth, and the National Grange the seventh.

Our Grange elects its own officers and develops its own program. Business meetings are for members only, but educational and informational programs are often open to the public. Each member has one vote.

The Grange provides the opportunity, the people provide the leadership, and the community reaps the benefits. We serve mainly through local service projects and legislative action.

The Grange is non-partisan and non-denominational. Grange policy starts with the local Grange, and the county, state and national levels debate and adopt policies submitted by local Granges.

We encourage you to take part, serve on committees and attend meetings as often as you can. We value your ideas!

I am at least 13 years old. I hereby apply for membership in Ravena Grange #1457. I desire to unite with others in elevating and advancing the interest of community life and family values. I understand the Grange is non-denominational and non-partisan. I pledge on my honor to abide by the laws of my State and Nation, and the rules and regulations of the Grange. I will not propose an improper person for membership, nor will I oppose the admission of anyone solely on the grounds of personal prejudice. I will endeavor to be a true and faithful Grange member. Should I violate this agreement, I may be dropped from membership. I understand that a portion of dues may pay for a subscription to the Empire State Granger.
